Nice, Monte Carlo and Milan trip (part 1)

CANNES, SOUTH OF FRANCE

The international Cannes Film Festival is held here annually.

The famous topless beach in Cannes (though no one's topless when this particular picture was taken). The weather is warm all year round, so French people all around the country migrate to the south to soak up some sun during the winter season.

NICE CITY CENTRE AND BEACHSIDE, FRANCE

There is always a breathtaking sunset every evening here in Nice. We had just finished dinner at a nearby Thai-Chinese restaurant and decided to take a relaxing stroll along the beachside. Here, people don't sunbathe like in Cannes because the beach is made up entirely of pebbles, and not sand. Nevertheless, the beach is crystal-clear blue and free of pollution.

There is a flower market every Saturday, selling flowers freshly plucked and arranged, to an assortment of bread, local fruits and honey, meat and cheese.

Don't be fooled by their appearance -- these are actually sugar candies (marzipan) molded into fun shapes such as vegetables, fruits, and bread. They can also be used for cake decorations.

EZE VILLAGE, FRANCE

The Eze village, populated by rich people -- is situated a few kilometres away from Nice, perched on top of a hill, and is very close to the Country of Monaco. The Galimard perfume museum and store is also situated here in Eze -- all of the perfumes found in the major fashion brands are all made in their factory, bottled and sold at 70% more of the original price. Therefore, by visiting here, you can get Chanel-esque scents at a incredibly cheaper rate.

MONTE CARLO, MONACO

Monaco is the world's fourth smallest country in the world, therefore they have to make use of every inch of land in this hilly landscape. The houses are built stacked from below to the top, or sometimes dug into the corners or the hills and caves. To me, Monaco is a glamourous, glittering Minas Tirith from Lord of the Rings, or something similar to the cities in FFXII.

JOURNEY FROM NICE TO MILAN

*All taken from inside the bus*

MILANO, ITALIA

I was too busy gawking at the fashionable Italian men's business suits and the chic ladies that I didn't pay much attention to the surroundings... Anyways it's too expensive to buy anything, except maybe from the H&M store. Damn.... I love H&M. Cheap, cheap stuff. Hurry and come to Malaysia.
